Second Moot Court at Vidhyadeep Law College

Vidhyadeep Law College successfully organized an Intra-Collegiate Moot Court Presentation as part of its academic initiative to promote experiential learning and strengthen students’ legal competencies. The objective of this curriculum-based activity was to provide budding law students with a platform to develop essential courtroom skills such as argument formulation, legal research, drafting, and advocacy. By simulating real court proceedings, the event aimed to enhance their understanding of legal processes and instill professional confidence.

A total of ten students actively participated in the event, presenting arguments on four different legal cases representing varied domains of law, including family law, domestic violence, criminal law, and civil law. This diversity encouraged participants to explore a wide range of legal issues and apply relevant statutes, case laws, and principles to build their submissions. Each student demonstrated commendable enthusiasm and preparation, making the sessions both informative and engaging.

The Moot Court Presentation was evaluated by an esteemed judging panel comprising Advocate Krishna Soni and Hemal Shastri, both well-respected professionals in the legal field. Their presence added credibility to the event and provided students with valuable exposure to real-world expectations of courtroom conduct. The judges evaluated participants based on clarity of arguments, depth of legal research, articulation, confidence, and overall presentation. Their constructive feedback served as an important learning tool, guiding students on how to refine their advocacy skills for future competitions and legal practice.

The event was organized under the dedicated coordination of Teacher Coordinator Reena Jain, whose systematic planning and support ensured the smooth execution of all proceedings. Her guidance played a crucial role in motivating the participants and maintaining the academic spirit of the event.

Among the cases discussed, significant ones included Anurag v. Prerna, a family law case involving restitution of conjugal rights, and the Dr. Sashank Shergil case, which revolved around a complex charge of murder. These cases allowed students to interpret legal provisions critically, understand procedural requirements, and construct persuasive arguments based on evidence and precedents.

At the conclusion of the event, the outstanding performers were recognized for their remarkable skills and dedication. Irfan Khatki, Kamil Belim, and Jenny Donda were honored for delivering exceptionally strong presentations that impressed the judging panel with their clarity, confidence, and legal reasoning.

Overall, the Moot Court Presentation proved to be an enriching academic experience, offering students an invaluable opportunity to bridge theoretical learning with practical application. The event not only enhanced their advocacy abilities but also fostered critical thinking, teamwork, and professional discipline, making it a significant success for Vidhyadeep Law College.
